Practical Workshop: The Advantages of People with Disadvantages

First of all, thank you for taking part in the Amplify DEI Summit. As our way of saying thank you for watching my presentation and wanting to support you further, I have created a workshop just for you. This practical workshop is a follow up to the Amplify DEI Summit, we welcome you to join us on Thursday, 19th November at 7 PM CET. The reason I decided to speak about this topic comes from personal experience of seeing my background as a disadvantage; being refugee in the past left some mental scars, and I saw it as a limitation to do what I wanted and be who I am. Mistakenly I have imposed this onto others, and not until I saw it as a gift, as something that has enriched my experience as a human being have I started to see the power of our unique expertise in everyone around me. I stopped trying to fit people into boxes, and began to understand them, get to know them and appreciate who they are. I have transformed as a leader, as well as a therapist and a coach. We have all experienced disadvantages is some shape or form. However, they do not need to get in the way of being the best version of yourself. The only limitation is how we or others see ourselves in both the workplace and society. Our job as leaders is to support others in their growth, develop and coach them to their full potential. And to do our best work, we need to: - Be able to see peoples full potential; beyond their background, psychological of physical limitations - Overcome the self-limiting beliefs that may be holding us back to see our own potential Ninety minutes might not be enough to transform your life, but it could be just enough to help you have a few crucial insights into who you are and what is your potential that will help you have more impact on the people around you. For this workshop delivery, we are using the Zoom platform and the virtual rooms for group exercises.
